Inspection & Findings
During the initial exterior roof inspection, our technician identified a primary entry point at a soffit intersection along the roofline. The opening showed clear signs of repeated wildlife access. An attic inspection was also completed to assess occupancy and confirm the presence of young.
Photos show a roofline soffit area with installed galvanized screening and a one-way wildlife door secured at the identified entry location. Fasteners and mesh coverage are visible along the soffit and roof edge.
Cause Analysis
Raccoons commonly exploit weakened soffit intersections on larger homes, especially where multiple roof angles meet. These areas can provide leverage and concealment for entry. Once established, raccoons will repeatedly use the same access point unless professionally excluded.
Treatment / Removal
A humane, non-lethal removal process was used. After confirming the primary entry point, a one-way door was installed to allow adult raccoons to exit while preventing re-entry. An attic inspection was conducted, and any mobile young found were safely removed and handled in accordance with humane wildlife standards. This work was completed by our technician, Grant.
Exclusion & Repairs
On the follow-up visit, the homeowner confirmed that no further activity had been heard. The one-way door was removed, the entry point was sealed, and galvanized screening was secured to reinforce the soffit area. Adjacent exclusion work was inspected to ensure continuity and durability.
Outcome & Confirmation
After removal of the one-way door and completion of sealing, the roofline exclusion was inspected and confirmed secure. No additional wildlife activity has been reported since the work was completed.
